Where there is darkness...Advent Day 16

2 The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned. Isaiah 9

Name of Jesus: Light of the World
Symbol: Tongs and live coal

I love this scripture.  Jesus is light.  Beautiful.

Where there is darkness, Jesus overcomes.
Where we cannot see, He opens our eyes.
Where we are lost, He shows the way.
When we are lonely, He brightens our life.
When we feel trapped, He opens the door.
Where there is sin, He washes us clean.

Satan pretends to be light. He offers all kinds of  'answers', but they all end up bringing us in into even deeper darkness.

Jesus always brings light.  Like those tongs with the live coal from the altar of God in Isaiah 6:7 He atones for all our sin...all our darkness.

My prayer today is that Jesus' light might shine in me - to clean me out of all my darkness and to maybe brighten someone else's day just a little.

Just as there comes a warm sunbeam into every cottage window, so comes a love...born of God's care for every need. -Nathaniel Hawthorne

Come Lord Jesus!

Happy Advent.
